The Second Leg

Road Trip: Part II.

So yeah, I have been slacking off. But I’m going to make a concerted effort to get this blog done now, especially because I haven’t posted anything from my two favorite stops: Glacier National Park and Yosemite National Park. A map of the first leg of the trip can be found here.

Missoula

Zoo Town.

I came to Missoula with high hopes. I’d heard great things about the town and I had come armed with a 7,000 page (approximately) tour guide my friend Taylor, who had lived there, had written up for me. However, it seems that the holidays were conspiring against me.

The Big Three – Grand Teton National Park

The grandest of Tetons.

Full disclosure: this is a long one. The Tetons are a favorite place of mine. One of my fondest memories is spending time in Jackson Hole, WY with my family, visiting the park and being just stunned at the beauty of the landscape. So, of course it was one of the stops I had planned out first.

Badlands. You Gotta Live it Everyday.

Lights out tonight, trouble in the heartland.

My next stop, Badlands National Park, is like a theme park of erosion. It really seems like the earth is slowly dissolving into prairie there.

Mizzou and you. (Well, me.)

This is where they live. Seriously.

After Chicago, I needed a little break. Which was great, because I headed to one of my favorite places – Sturgeon, MO.

Where’s Gabe Now?

That’s a lot of driving.

I guess you could call this a preview of things to come. The blog is lagging WAY behind my actual travel. These posts take a surprising amount of time to create, and most times I’m not in Wi-Fi coverage, so I can’t update the blog even if I wanted to. (It’s hard to charge your laptop in the woods, too.) Right now, I’m hanging out in the (relative) lap of luxury – a hostel in Missoula, MT. It’s a cool little city, and it’s given me some time to catch up a little, but as you can see from the map above, I’m still way behind. For obvious reasons, the trip’s gonna finish well before the blog does, but I’ll keep it going. I’m enjoying putting these up.

A Pitt Stop

The Pirates may be a crappy team, but damn do they have a nice ballpark.

I CAME UP WITH THE TITLE ALL BY MYSELF. I AM SO WITTY.

Danbury, CT. Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Let Kim Feed Me 91 Pancakes

When I die bury me in one of these.

A short post for a lazy weekend. All the pictures are from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. No pictures of the hosts were taken to protect the innocent.

New Hampshire Kicked My Ass – And I Liked It

I don’t see what the big deal is. Only took me like 20 minutes.

Ok, sorry for the delay, guys. This is harder than it looks. Unlike climbing Mt. Washington. That’s probably exactly as hard as it looks. So I took the manly way up – I drove.
